<HTML>Yes, all subs could move backwards on electric motors, by inversing gaussing magnetic power.
But under water, it is very difficult to move backward, because of stabilization of the sub. As a submariner, I try this once or twice and it's worked only for a very few minuts, not so long for a counterattack of destroyer.
