<HTML>I attended the special Members Tour of U-505 last year. They hold an evening tour on three successive days, I attended on June 6. In order to attend, one must first join the Museum\'s membership group, which gives you various benefits and entry to special events like this one for a yearly fee of $80. Then to attend the tour of U-505 there was an additional fee, I think it was in the neighborhood of $40 per person. Seeing that this money goes to the upkeep of the boat, I considered this money well spent. And then the chance to talk to the veterans involved in the capture, and to scholars in the field, was priceless. The event lasted several hours and included both a formal question and answer session after the tour of the boat, and a chance to talk to the veterans informally before the start of the tour.

As to the diesels, if you go on this members tour you will get to hear a tape recording of one of the diesels which they did start and run for a few moments back in 1994. As you might expect, it is deafening.
