<HTML>I was unaware of the death of Kretschmer until visiting this site. A tragic end for one of the ablest submarine skippers of the Second World War.
Without wishing to appear ghoulish and I apologise in advance if this appears so, where was he laid to rest? The thought occurs that he may have been buried at sea.
