<HTML>Lawrence:
I have a translation of the journal kept by a petty officer in the raider MICHEL. One evening, celebrating the birthday of a crew member and the news of the imminent arrival of a supply ship carrying mail from home, the following \"fruit cocktail\" was put together by his \"mess\": \"Seven bottles red wine, three bottles champagne, three bottles cognac, three bottles mineral water, three tins strawberries\"! I have no idea how many people partook of this concoction, but for their sake, I hope it was a substantial number.
Cordially.
