<HTML>Hi Kurt & Others
Cremer was court-martialled, he was charged with disobedience in
action, damage to naval property and for manslaughter.
On the 31/12/41 U-333 sank a ship which turned out to be the
German blockade-runner Spreewald.
Cremer was later acquitted because, against orders Spreewald was
in the wrong position at the time.
But my vote also goes to U -333 as one tough U-boat in battle, being
fired upon, rammed at and her crew wounded including KL Cremer,
and his U-boat badly damaged from naval battle she still made it back
home.
