I\'m not sure if the following hint is the kind of thing you\'re loooking for, but Erich Topp, KptLt of U-552 at that time, wrote a beautiful text about the loss of his close friend Engelbert Endrass KptLt of U-562 who died aboard his boat on 21 December 1941.

You\'ll find this text in the following edition:
