<HTML>Thanks, all, for the input. But there is a memorial marker in the garden at the Archiv and Horst Bredow told me it was for a boat sunk by the Americans after the war was known to be over. Who knows if some nationalities may have \"doctored\" dates in logs (it wouldn\'t be the first time)?

I will place a call to the Archiv to get further info, and will post what I find out.

Thanks again to all for the good facts and figures so far...
