As you will be in Hamburg, you might spend some time to look at the Elbe II U-boat Bunker. This huge concrete structure, partially demolished in November 1945, is, to my knowledge, still standing on the southern bank of the Elbe river at the Vulcanhafen and keeps buried three Type XXI U-boats: U-2505, U-3004 and U-3506. Though they were buried with sand, the Bunker can be looked at; it is in the Hamburg Freeport.
