<HTML>hi patrick.
as a german, i welcome you here and wish a great time in germany.
but, sorry, the hamburg u-boat-bunker is not to be seen anymore.
they have \"cleaned up\" the whole area in order to build a new part of the port.
sorry.
why don´t you take a look at the far east of germany?
of course, there is a juliette-class russian submarine in the harbour of peenemünde, the former v2-rocket-base. it´s the biggest diesel-uboat of all times, carrying nuclear cruise missiles.
take a look in the net....[www.u-461.de] (unfortunately only in german)
so, what more?
in a small town called seelow the was the last big battle before the final battle of berlin. the battle of the seelow heights.
in seelow, there´s a big memorial with the original commanding-bunker of marshal shukov, some 15 russian tanks, artillery and gunnery and a huge graveyard.
then, some 20 km away in a small village called falkenhagen you can have a look at the nazi´s biggest bunker. it was the secret production facility of nerv-gas. it´s really really BIG!
see, you can drive from village to village, from forest to forest - talk to people and they will tell you where to find war-related sights and where to go.
the eastern part of state brandenburg - we call it the oderbruch, because it´s a landscape west from the river oder right at the polish border - is full of historical sights from the nazi-period up to now.
have fun here, mayby you can post a trip´s diary here.
looking forward to that, i stay sincerely,
