<HTML>Without a technical German dictionary where these \"sub\" specific items might be listed it is difficult to be exact. However, bunker is a storage entity, ie, a sub bunker (concrete sub pen), coal, oil or water bunker (tank). Regel means Regulator and implies regulation of something - like ballast water. Zelle on the other hand mean \"cell\". How this differentiates from a bunker is probably it\'s use. Tauchbunker and tauchzelle have something to do with diving. Hopefully a \"submariner\" can help; I\'m curious too what exactly these things each do.
To submerge the sub must take on 102 tons (I assume metric or 102,000 liters of water. The total is 199 tons more; this puzzles me too. A boat always displaces it\'s own weight of water. As a sub submerges it displaces more and more volume (and therefore weight) of water thereby needing to become heavier to do this. The total may refer to the additional weight of water that would fill the sub???????</HTML>
