<HTML>Evening Chris,
Might I say that this is a sensible to start your library. Having been at this game of maritime history for nearly fourty years quite obviously the later
published books are becoming more accurate with the release of classified documents each year, so here goes for my top ten based on the latest editions.
I will give reference books first and documentory second.

German U-boat Losses During WW11 Axel Niestle
Axis Submarine Successes WW11 Jurgen Rohwer
U-Boat Operations of the Second WW Kenneth Wynn Vols 1 & 2
Hitlers U-boat War 1939-42 & 1942-45 Clay Blair
The U-boat Offensive 1914-45 V.E.Tarrant
Black May Michael Gannon
U-boat Tankers John F. White
Britains Sea War John M. Young
Conflict over the Bay Norman Franks
The Defeat of the Enemy Attack on Shipping 1939-45 Navy Records Society

The above are the ones that I seem to refer to more often than some of the three
hundred plus naval history volumes in my library. If you are really into Naval History there is nothing to beat primary source material if you can find it, which is becoming more difficult year by year.Remember that the Official Record does not always tell you the full story and those that are left get fewer and fewer.

Regards to All Ted A.</HTML>
