I was thinking of Hessler too, because he looks a lot like the man on the photo. There are however a few things that don\'t add up:

I\'ve compared the various ranks the men have on this photo. Godt is seen here as a Kapitan-zur-see, which he was from September 1942 to March 1943. Doenitz\' rank of Admiral (?) seems to confirm this timeframe.

Here\'s the problem. Hessler was no longer a Kaleu by then. He was a korvettenkapitan since September 1941.

Adi Schnee is a possibility.

Thoughts ?</HTML>
