Many thanks, Gert. I shall contact Miro Herald whose uncle's name does appear on the crew listing. The least I should be able to do is pass to him a photograph copy of this note. I have also been in contact with the Submariners Association in Kiel to see if they can help.

The note itself obviously has no value as such just a piece of memorabilia which in my opinion deserves to be held by someone far more worthy than myself.
