Norwegian Shore Leave

<HTML>In the hopes of starting some more peaceful threads, here is something that has been gnawing at my curiosity.

What was the shore leave/social environment for U-boaters in Norway?

We know that France was quite a choice location, and the natives were quite friendly, at least at first. How about Norway? Were the locals friendly, sullen, or did they go through phases with the waxing and waning of the Axis cause, like the French did? Was there a lot of intermarriage? Was Norway seen as a less favorable spot for shore leave/basing than France by U-boaters? Did this change once it was clear France was going to be invaded soon (say, by early \'44)?

PS. just picked up the director\'s cut of Das Boot. Can\'t wait to try it out.
