U-Boats lost in the Gulf Of Mexico

<HTML> I have been told by some of the old people here in the Tampa, Sarasota Florida area that a U-Boat was bombed after sinking a Freighter off of Sarasota~Bradenton and that German\'s were taken prisoner after they swam to the beach. If this is so, where\'s the U-Boat? Does anyone know?
