Hello, My name is Barbara Sale and Emil Grade was my father. I am looking for any clue to what happened to Emil Grade after he was removed from U564 after sustaining a head injury. In August 1942 he was taken aboard U463 as there was a doctor there. Some information suggests he was taken to France. He then joined another Uboat, but we don't know which. After that we only know that he was captured somewhere and became a POW in Devon, England. This was possibly near Dawlish. His POW number was A452520. His dob was 30-10-1916. I hope you can help me find out more.
Thank you,
Barbara Sale
