I do not know if Hess rejoined the BM. In fact do not know anything abt him after his release as a war prisoner in 6/46. As to criteria for hiring, I do not have any details - only hear-say, from a few rejoiners: In the fifties they hired just about anyone the could to initially fill the ranks. \'56-\'60 the \"old boy network\" took care of the still open positions.
