When Heinrich Schonder, captain of the U-77, sank the SS Arakaka (22 June 1941), he he was told, or believed he had been told, that the ship was the Alexandria, a Greek steamer.

Could anyone suggest how long it would have taken for this to have been rectified?

The U-77 reached port on the 7th July.
