Why were seven Brandenburger special forces members on U-200 when she was sunk in the mid-Atlantic?

When U-200 was sunk in the mid North Atlantic on her first patrol on 24 June 1943, seven members of the Brandenburger special forces went down with her.

Does anyone know what their mission was?
