<HTML>Unless it changed titles on the way across the Atlantic, the only Clark Gable submarine movie that comes to mind is \"Run Silent, Run Deep.\" \"We Dive at Dawn\" comes up as a 1943 John Mills, Eric Portman film. Cary Grant did a couple of sub films, including \"DestinationTokyo\" during the war. That film was distinguished by it\'s totally authentic (circa 1907 or so) torpedo attack center. (Not that the censors were likely to let anything that would actually work get on film at that point.) The sub in \"Down Periscope,\" which gets funnier every time I watch it, was actually USS Pampanito, and was Balao Class, not Gato. She got a nice facelift, courtesy of the film production, though the diving sequences were obviously faked since tourist access stairs had been cut into the pressure hull. Something that was pretty obvious in the final scene as the crew exits. The only WWII fleet boat that still has all of her hatches original is the Cod, located in Cleveland.</HTML>
