No Periscopes

Saturday evening, I decided to watch "Das Boot" again for what must have been the umteenth time. I have the Directors Cut / Widescreen / German Language / English Sub-title/ 209 Minute Version. I still can't believe that for the first time I noticed that the sub shown in the surface scenes around 44 - 50 minutes, again at about 1 hour - 12, 16, 21, 27 minutes had NO external periscopes, periscope housing or masts. Veee...rr...........rrry Interestink!
