U-166 wreck located

On 8 June, 2001 BP Amoco PLC and Shell Oil Co. announced that last month they discovered the wreck of U-166 in the Gulf of Mexico in 5000 feet of water while surveying for a planned underwater pipeline. The wreck was discovered in late May 2001.

Thanks to all of you who alerted us on this, we literally got dozens of e-mails on this exciting matter!

We might be getting some official photos of this to post here soon, but it's not certain yet.
