The latest edition of "Fine Scale Modeler" had a nice vignette in it.
A Grumman TBM Avenger posed above a Revell U99.
The aircraft is to 1/72 or poss. 1/48, displayed in a flying attitude (banking to port with bomb bay open), the sub has been cut down to waterline level and abaft the tower, in order to fit the base.
The result is a very effective false perspective vignette, somewhat akin to a 3-d photographn
