If I may add, the intermediate frequency emission is plausible, however, I have also read that this was a deceptive ruse told to allied pilots if they were expected to be interrogated if shot down. Remember, at the same time the British developed the cavity magnetron...which operated at 3Ghz vice the 200MHz of the ASV, SWC1/2 and Type 286 family radars, or RDF as it was known then.
Remember, Germany built these receivers (Metox/Naxos) based on the crashes of two allied airplanes.. Wellington (ASV Mk1 200 MHz) which crashed in North Africa and a Stirling Bomber (H2S 3GHz) in Rotterdam..
