Hello,
This is an interesting topic. I have often wondered if air launched DCs had contact fuses as well. The account of 1059\'s sinking indicates that a depth charge exploded when it stuck the u-boat\'s deck. Most other accounts speak of DCs bouncing off the hull if hit directly. One intersting account in particular is that of U-534, whose deck was hit by a DC that then rolled off and exploded at its prescribed setting.
