U-Boats in Firth of Clyde

I am researching Convoys from Lamlash. Can anybody tell me which U-Boats operated in the Firth of Clyde during 1917 - 1918 and when they were in the Clyde.One attempted to torpedo HMS Avon at about 6.20 am on 2nd January 1918 any idea which one?
