That's a bit diffucult to answer, as the patrol summaries in the German official history (and the ones in my own notes, for that matter) don't break patrol areas down into that sort of detail. Generally, they just list "North Channel" or "Irish Sea."
Will say that there were more U-boats in the Irish Sea in late 1917 and 1918 than earlier in 1917.
As for the HMS Avon attack, I'll check some KTBs over the weekend and see if I can find a match.
