U 153 was reported sunk (if fact damaged?) on the 6-7-42 by USAAF 59 Sqn aircraft and USS Lansdowne DD 486.

And Sunk by the USS Lansdowne on the 13-7-42

Does any one know what type of aircraft was flown by 59 Sqn and where based?

I also read that a USN aircraft helped in the sinking with USS Lansdowne on the 13-7-42?</HTML>
