<HTML>Hi John
I understand problems which were with you after the visit of Ireland. Very frequently the people focus primary attention on the taste of alcoholic beverage. Them wants so that it would be pleasure today. In this case they do not want to think what problems they can have tomorrow.
As a result of fermentation in alcohol there can be the impurities of carbonyl compounds. By their chemical nature they are similar to acetone or acetaldehyde. Specifically, these impurities are critical for the poor health next day. The greater such of impurity, health is worse. These impurities have a weak effect on taste. For this reason them it is possible to detect only by special methods of analysis today or on the poor health tomorrow. Unfortunately these impurities practically cannot be removed by distillation. They are outdistanced together with alcohol. It is possible to remove them either by oxidation, for example KMnO4 or by using the sorbent, for example such as the specially prepared charcoal.
The fact that we usually consider the smell of alcohol in reality it smelled impurities which are contained in alcohol. Completely pure alcohol utilized for the special purposes practically does not have a smell. On the bottles with such an alcohol usually they write \"Open under the special conditions\". If one drink such an alcohol, then next day man thirst will torture. Other unpleasant consequences are very weak. The cost of such an alcohol is high.
Ones a time guys remained at evening on the work and decided to drink. They took a bottle with alcohol. They did not turn attention, that alcohol contains isotopes carbon-13 and is intended for studies of nuclear magnetic resonance. Isotope carbon-13 is not radioactive and it is not dangerous for the health. However, the cost of alcohol that thay have drank was about $500.
The guys have decided, that good idea something to eat. As they did not have any foot with themself they have taken cactaceae (Such plant with needles which grows in Mexico and other countries. I do not know as its title is correctly written) which grow in a pot hear, have deleted needeles and eat. Cactaceae are not conventional food for Russian. Remaining does not call any surprise.
