<HTML>Hi!

As far as I knew after a beginning of war all Finnish coast heavy-caliber artillery were completely destroyed by a fire of guns from forts of Russian naval fortress Kronstadt and other places. Thus at Finland was not of guns capable to fire Leningrad, though the Finns very much wanted it. After an evacuation of the Sovtie troops from base Hanko in hands to the Finns some damaged heavy-caliber guns have got. The Finns have decided to repair these guns, to establish on railway platforms and to use for raking historical centre of Leningrad. Breadth of a railway track pit in Finland is same as in Russia and it is much wider than a track pit used in other European countries. It allows to use heavy guns by the railway. However because of technical backwardness the Finns could not realize this plan even with the German help up to 1944.

In Russia the feat of the battery of a coast defense of an island Suho on the Ladoga lake is well known. After establishing blockade of Leningrad by the German and Finnish troops from a land the procurement of city came true only on the Ladoga lake by the ships of Ladoga military flotilla and small merchant vessels and barges. The strategic position in a southern part Ladoga lake was held by an island Suho which monitored area where were operated services. The Finns and Germans have decided to capture this island to cut short procurement of multimillion city.

On an island the battery of a coast defense and less than 100 soldiers placed. The preparing of capture of an island was led very carefully. On the Ladoga lake the German landing barges were forwarded and the Italian boats MAS which specially for conducting this operation were brought from Specia. The preparation for an operation has held all summer and most part of autumn 1942. At last in late autumn Sucho was attacked by 22 landing barges on which there were about 2000 soldiers and many guns. The island Suho defended garrison less than 100 men and small battle-boat. The battery courageously defended an island. A bit later ambassador of a beginning of battle the battery was supported by aircraft both all German and Finnish ships with all hands were completely destroyed. It was possible to be salvaged only two Italian boats MAS which due to high speed having time to abandon battle field.
