<HTML>There was an inconclusive duel between HMS Warspite and the huge Graf Spee battery of 35.2cm guns at Lochrist, near Le Conqet during August 1944 when the Battle for Brest was getting under way. The German bunkers are all still there and explorable. Likewise an underground hospital etc.
I believe that the duel didn\'t do much but but kill lots of fish and scare the hell out of the locals. NOt sure if the Warspite suffered any near-misses, but I don\'t think so.
