<HTML>Hi Walter,
I dont know if OlzS Kusch was a Catholic but if his views of the German government of the time were similar to some others perhaps he should be thought of in a more kindly light. Many others went to their deaths because of their religious beliefs. Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer being one of the better remembered of them. There are many more to remember, some who died and some who survived.
In both cases (those who died and those who survived) were U-boat commanders of the Great War.
There are also a great many names of military men, who time seems to have forgotten, who opposed the NSDAP in their own way and suffered for it.
General Henning v. Treschkow (?) and Oberstleutnant Claus Shenk Graf v. Stauffenberg to name but two.
Regards
