How safe is the date and the harbor?
There are at least three commanders of uboats who received the Narvik shield in gold, but they became commander later than 1942:
- Rolf Thomsen, U 1202 (27.01.1944)
- Gerhard Schaar, U 957 (01.04.1943)
- Günther Pulst, U 978 (12.05.1943)
Pulst and Schaar operated from Norway.
Also receiving this badge but never have been commander are Nikolaus Schwarzmeier and Heinrich Leinemann.
