I was paging through the subcommitee website and happened upon an article about sonar in RC models. They thought about (and are actually testing) a cordless radio shack microphone in an RC sub. It costs about ten US dollars or more and, obviously, lets you here other boats. It also helps the skipper know a little more about were his boat is. As anyone here successfully used a system like this or similiar?
