Hello Dougie,
In fact the instruction sheet shows a VIIC deck and lists it
as a part not to be used. When carefully inspecting the tree,
it is evident that the deck was part of the spure tree but
was removed by RoG.
I guess they will issue the shorter VIIC hull as a separate
kit, in the future. The VIID can be cut back quite easily
though...
