I have been making World War I aircraft models out of wood. Mostly cypress. I buy the plastic kit and copy the pieces on to wood and make it like that. Now, I\'m making a couple of submarine models doing the same thing with 1:40 kits. I have a couple cut out of wood and ready to be carved etc.. My question is how accurate are the plastic kits as far as details are concerned? They appear to be very detailted and a lot of time is involved in getting it on wood, therefore, I would like to spend the time on something I know is accurate. Is there anyone else making models in this way? Thanks.
