Is there anyone here who has and/or can decypher Section II, D, II, para 146.) procedure, pp. 52-60 of "The U-Boat Commander's Handbook?"

Specifically the terms:

Counter D/F
Cross D/F
Diagonal D/F
Director Angle

I realize they deal with the TDC; but, how were they used?

-...-

Was there a stadiometer installed in the periscope, where the viewer could twist one of the handles and align the double image atop one another to get a readout on the range of the target, or did they just use the Distance = MHH / tangent of stadiometer reading formula?

-...-

Is there a source of/for any surviving U-Boat training materials on how to determine target course/speed/distance--as was used and accomplished by the U-Boat commanders?

Tnx in advance and best regards to all,
