doing M.A. thesis on Torpedo Crisis - need help finding sources

Hi, I am new here and this is my first post on U-boat.net. I am a graduate student at Georgia Southern University writing my master's thesis on the "Torpedokrise" during WWII. I need some help however finding sources - specifically ones in English. My German is good enough for archival purposes (as alot of archival stuff is written pretty simple and to the point), although I have trouble with the scholarly published material in German.
I have "Die Torpedos der Deutschen U-Boote" by Eberhard Roessler, although I'm having alot of trouble understanding the technical terms he uses when describing the inner workings of torpedos.
Does anyone here know of anything in English describing the technical functionings of the G7a and G7e contact/magnetic pistol torpedos? Or anything about the Torpedo Crisis for that matter.

I will be extremely grateful for any assistance people can provide me.
