U 98 shot report

Hello
I am translating pages from the war diary of Robert Gysae, commander of U 98 on 13.5.41 when he sank the armed auxiliary merchant cruiser SALOPIAN.
A few terms have defeated me, all from the shot report. Can anyone help?
What is Aptierung of a torpedo? What is PI? What is DEZ? Salopian zigzags by 9 Dez. Degrees in German are GRAD ie so Dez is unlikely to stand for degree, and a zag of 9 degrees seems scarcely enough and how can such a course alteration be observed accurately from a sub that is 1500 m astern?
Thanks for your help
