I posted this question on "General Discussion" forum, but this forum is a more appropriate place.

Does anybody know where I can find a general description of technologies used in WWII and I uboats ? I am especially curious about things like
1. How openings in the hull for screws and hydroplanes were made water-tight under high pressure,
2. How water pumps were operating in the depth,
etc.
