U-404 and HMS Veteran

Hi all,
there are several positions listed for the sinking of british DD Veteran, torpedoed by U-404 on 26/9/42. The latitude is close enough, between 54.34-54.51 N, but longitude varies between 25.44 and 23.04 W, which is quite a distance. Does anybody have the correct position?
