All Type VII and IX carried deck guns at one point, they were landed in most cases when the AA fits were increased in 1943-44. There are a few exceptions, and those are the ones I'm looking for. I know that U-242 retained her deck gun in addition to the Turm IV, I have not been able to find any proof of a Turm IV with quad 20mm and deck gun though...if nothing else, it gets the researchers motivated!

This has driven me crazy...not you usual U-boat configuration question that's for sure!
