Could this gearwheel pattern belong to U 3280 uboat made in 1945?

Good morning.

I found an interestig woodden pattern of a gearwheel. It says V.E.W. U 3280 on it. The diameter of this gearwheel is about 36 inches. It is huge. Could this gearwheel pattern belong to U 3280 uboat made in 1945?

This gearwheel was discovered in one of the old barns near Vancouver, Canada. As far as I know, there was only one company aound that carried initials V.E.W That was Vivian Engine Works.

Could anybody tell if the gearwheel like this one could be possible applied to a uboat?

Sorry, it says on a tag V.E.W U 3282 and not U 3280. Romak 07/28/2012 07:21PM
