HMS Glasgow

I never knew my Grandfather but from information from my mother, I gather that he served on HMS Glasgow when the ship was used to assist in the D Day landings.I have no idea what rank he held or indeed what job he carried out on the ship neither doI have his service number.
He was Duncan Sinclair who originally Came from Helensburgh.He would have been about 20 year old at this time.Any information on him or on where I might best get info would be appreciated.
