I had family aboard the Pompano when it disappeared in September 1943, presumed to have been sunk, off the very northern shores of the main Japanese island of Honshu. I am looking to establish communication with anyone sharing an interest in the Pompano or anyone who has or can point me towards anyone who might be able to provide info.
Also, I am interested in learning the source of the info on the Pompano's disappearance chronicled on this website (http://www.uboat.net/allies/warships/ship/2945.html) because it is the only explanation I have ever found with any details. All other accounts, official or otherwise, attribute her loss to unknown causes.
Thanks for any and all leads!
