<HTML>My father, Petty Officer STACEY, (Alfred Ronald George (Ron)) was awarded the DSM, in the New Years Honours List 1943, (London Gazette 1 Jan 43) for service on HMS LANDGUARD, Cutter, ex-USN SHOSHONE. The Decoration which I have was sent to HMS ROEBUCK, Apr 46. Unfortunately I have found out the original papers have not survived to be transferred to the National Archives at Kew. I am extremly interested to learn why my father was awarded the DSM whilst serving on board HMS LANDGUARD in I assume 1942 if any one can provide me with the information (either what was happening on board or why he received the award) would really be appriciated. Prior to this he served on HMS RESOLUTION.
