sorry for the delay in the responce, I'm in Belleville Ontario, just a couple hours from Ottawa.. I'll probably drop down that way sometime in the near future. I've also been planning a trip to the Naval Marine Museum in Kingston, Ontario as I know they have some information on the ship and either a copy or the original of one of the ship's logs.

Anyway, thankyou kindly for that information. I'm a newbie at this and any help does wonders.
