Gary and Mark,
I remember another story about the Bluefish my dad use to tell me as a boy. I know that at least some of it is true because I've found inforamtion about the incident on the web. The Bluefish and another submarine were playing a cat and mouse game with a Japanese submarine, I-351. As I remember the story, the Bluefish had been chasing the I-351 on the surface and submerged for several days. At one point while submerged, my dad said they heard something run along the bottom of the submarine. They never knew if it was the I-351 or a torpedo from the I-351. They finally sunk the I-351 on 15 July 1945. Like I said, I really don't know how accurate this story is or if a submarine or torpedo could get close enough to the Bluefish to hit the bottom of it without the crew knowing what it was. But, it was a great story he use to tell.
