Dear Sirs,
since several years i have a pocket Watch,
that is stamped inside with following initials:
W. Diprose
BXBG. I.I.
incl. this military ARROW and an "A" on its backside.
found also a clockmakers inspection engravieng of: 07.04.43
Some colletors told me the this is a brit. submarine pocketwatch.
I have reseached here in german forums and via some organisations that I know (I help to find missing soldiers of WWII in our area in front of the Hürtgen-Forest and am a board member of our history club) but could not find out something.
Questions of course:
" BXBG. I.I."
what it is standing for
and/or if theres any chance to get some informaition about
" W. Diprose " on what type of submarine he was.
I would be really thankful if you could help me in this matter.
Thank you in advance for the convienence that this may cause
With Best regards
Will
