The British merchant ship Memnon was sunk by U106 on 11.03.41, Gneisenau with Scharnhorst were at sea during 'Operation Berlin' at this time. Gneisenau is reported as finding one of the Memnon's life boats, taking off four survivors as POW's. Did this happen?, and when?, of the four men, were three RAF personnel plus one man from the ships 'Armed Guard?. john
